Superb! The service was amazing. The food and menu perfection. It's difficult to get to. Not much street parking but who cares. The presentation of the food and the flavor profile will knock your socks off. Elegant. The vide was cool. Drinks were overpriced but decent. However the food is the real star in the room. I went for my birthday and it was one of the best food experiences I've had in LA this is my new favorite. This place could survive in Santa Monica. Or on a rooftop in DTLA.

Went here tonight for the first time and ordered their Seafood Tower, Branzino, Corn, Churros and another dessert. They were all good and to the liking of the wifey. Good service and reasonably priced. Nice decor and clean. Will not hesitate to come back again.

My All-Time FAVORITE spot that I keep coming back to! The staff are always friendly, their recommendations never fail! We've had pretty much everything on the menu! They're not stingy on their alcohol in their mixed drinks. The seafood is always fresh & we recently met their Sous-chef & he's literally the most down to eat humble guy you'll ever meet! The Manger, John is very accommodating & so attentive. Their new seafood tower was all of our favorites in one serving & it's a must have! We'll be back for more soon!

Loreto is a restaurant that deserves ALL the hype it gets. Tucked into a corner of residential Frogtown, Loreto offers a fresh and exciting seafood menu with thoughtful presentation and incredible flavors. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the ceviche, tostadas, and small plates absolutely blew me away. Their best-selling Magdalena Ceviche has a sizable portion of buttery yellowtail with lime, cilantro, jalapeno, and honeydew served with crisp tostada shells and crackers. You can tell how fresh and high-quality the ingredients are because every flavor really stands out, and the balance of spicy/tangy/sweet/salty is just perfect. The Joaquin Tostada is an absolute flavor bomb of rich tuna belly layered with avocado, delicate "soy onions" which were shockingly good, and drenched in a flavorful creamy sauce and yuzu vinaigrette. No description can do this dish justice. Just order it. I also recommend the Croquetas de Pulpo, where delicate and creamy panko-crusted octopus croquettes sit atop a warm carrot-based puree with flavors of Queso Oaxaca and Pimento pepper. The Atun Picante, which turned out to be Loreto's version of Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice, was delicious but a bit boring. I would skip this dish and opt for a shrimp aguachile next time. The Todos Santos Milkpunch was sweet, fruity, smoky, and tropical -- everything I'd want in a milkwashed cocktail. I didn't try the desserts but saw other tables enjoying a gorgeous Strawberry Pavlova and soft-serve. They also have a weekend daytime concept called Za Za Za serving an entirely separate seafood-forward menu with dishes like a bonita fish tostada, swordfish al pastor tacos, shrimp rolls, fresh churros, and more. I can't wait to check this out. The restaurant is a stone's throw away from LA River Greenway Trail where you can take in views of lush greenery to the east thanks to the LA River Revitalization project, and peek at the strange collection of businesses to the west (La Colombe Roasters, LA River Kayak Rentals, Quantum Clinic Spa, and miscellaneous art galleries). Overall, this is one of those rare unique dining experiences that makes me so happy to live in LA. I can't wait to go back again and again.

I finally had the chance to visit Loreto, and it absolutely lived up to my expectations. I started with a Spicy Margarita, which was genuinely spicy! For appetizers, I tried the Augachile Verde; it was a little on the sour side but still delicious. The Branzino, which I'd been eager to try, was incredible--it's the kind of dish that makes you feel like you're back in Mexico. I also ordered the Mar-Esquites as a side, which paired perfectly with everything. The outdoor, desert-inspired setting really makes you forget your surroundings, and the restaurant's tucked-away location in a residential area adds to its charm. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and our waiter offered great recommendations for first-timers. The portions are just right for two people. Thought we'd have leftovers but we left no crumbs. I can't wait to return and try the seafood tower!

Loreto in Frogtown delivers a standout dining experience with its vibrant seafood offerings and refreshing aqua frescas. We shared the Seafood Tower, Magdelena Ceviche, Croquetas de Pulpo, Loaded Sweet Potato, Branzino Atun Picante and Chicarron de Pescado. The Loaded Sweet Potato, Chicarron de Pescado, and Branzino were the standouts--each dish bursting with flavor and skillfully executed. Though dessert was a bit underwhelming compared to the exceptional food and drinks, it didn't detract significantly from the overall experience. The service was commendable, with a knowledgeable server who ensured our meal flowed smoothly and efficiently. Unfortunately, our initial interaction with the Host was less impressive. Despite our attempts to adjust our reservation from 8 to 12 people and avoid a prix fixe menu, we faced some resistance. Although the issue was eventually resolved, the initial friction felt contrary to the warm hospitality one might expect of a Mexican restaurant. The only issue keeping Loreto from a 5-star rating was the hospitality. Our party size increased from 8 to 12, eventually settling at 11 due to a last-minute injury. Loreto requires larger parties to contact them via email, so I requested to adjust our reservation to 12. We were told that a prix fixe menu was mandatory, but our group preferred to order individually. We managed to secure a separate reservation for the additional guests and requested to be seated near each other. Although there was room available, the host was initially resistant due to our refusal of the prix fixe menu. While the seating was eventually arranged, the experience felt less welcoming than expected. Hospitality should ease rather than complicate the dining experience. Overall, Loreto offers an impressive culinary experience, marred only slightly by the host's rigidity. If you're a seafood lover, it's well worth a visit.

This place is so beautiful and the food is so good. You can try so many things you've never had and get to do a lot of fish options that are not available and other restaurants I've been to with their variety. They have an incredible staff and a changing menu of cocktails that is really yummy. They have something for everybody on the cocktail menu. They're very knowledgeable about everything in the restaurant. The staff do not mess around. They are very serious about what they do and they're really nice While they're doing it. You will have fun if you go here. It's perfect for a date or a dinner with friends. I wouldn't say that it's really appropriate for kids. It's just kind of dark at night. It's a really wonderful part of Frogtown and you should really check it out If you haven't gone.

Good food but kinda pricey. The drinks were not filled all the way? The Branzino was more than enough for 2. Filling and the portion size was good. The tostada bang bang was my favorite though. Overall really good food. Nice date spot and good vibes. Really cute interior. Plenty of seating. Outdoor area looked cute - and like people are able to rent out for a private party? Steeet parking - fairly easy to find.

Came here last night with my work team for my boss' going away dinner as it was her suggestion! She always eats at really nice restaurants so we just took her word for it! She was right! The establishment is a cute little palm springs vibe, very open with cacti in the outside patio. They do have a parking lot but it's valet only and it's $15 (with a service charge less than $2 if you use a credit card) This is mostly all if not ALL seafood options. We got the lobster and the branzino. Personally I liked the lobster more, but you get more bang for your buck if you get the branzino. It comes with Spanish rice, black beans, mini quesadillas, pickled onions and two salsas. We also loved the bang bang tostada, so we ordered another. We ordered something that was on top of crispy rice and OMG, drool, it was probably one of my favorite things that we ordered! We had to order the beet oysters and we got the West Coast ones because they're less briny. The churro dessert is so cute because they fry them as the LA symbol. I've never seen anyone in LA do that before so I was very impressed! If you're a seafood lover nothing misses here! Definitely coming back again and again!
